Effective Date: September 26, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how MISC Apps (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our mobile application, WalkUnlock: Campus Clash (the “Service”).
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our Service, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information to provide and improve our Service to you.
a) Location Information (Precise and Coarse)
The “Campus Clash” feature of our Service is a location-based game that requires access to your device’s location to function.
Foreground Location: We collect your precise location when you are actively using the Campus Clash screen to display your position on the game map, show nearby points of interest (Teams and Lockbursts), and allow you to perform in-game actions at your location, such as creating a Team or deploying a Lockburst.
Background Location: The app’s core service runs in the foreground to count your steps and monitor app usage. When the Campus Clash feature is enabled, this service also needs to be aware of your location to calculate gameplay penalties if you are near a rival’s in-game items (“Lockbursts”). This is considered background location use because it occurs when you are not actively interacting with the Campus Clash map. This continuous monitoring is essential for the integrity and real-time nature of the gameplay.
b) Installed Application Information
To provide the app locking functionality, our Service scans the applications installed on your device. This allows you to see a list of your apps and select which ones you wish to lock. This scanning and the list of your locked apps are processed and stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
c) App Usage Data
With your permission, we use Android’s Usage Stats API to monitor which applications are currently in the foreground and for how long you use them. This information is used for two purposes:
- To enforce the app lock when you are using an app you have chosen to lock.
- To display usage statistics to you within the “Manage Apps” screen. This data is stored in a local database on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
d) Physical Activity Data
The Service requires access to your device’s physical activity recognition capabilities (i.e., the step counter sensor) to track the number of steps you take. This is the core mechanic for earning in-game currency and determining if your selected apps should be locked or unlocked.
e) User-Generated Content
If you choose to create a team within the “Campus Clash” game, the team name you provide will be stored on our servers and will be visible to other players in your vicinity on the game map.
f) Automatically Collected Information (Usage & Device Data)
We and our third-party service providers may automatically collect certain information when you use our Service, including:
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and other device identifiers.
- Usage Information: Details about your interaction with our Service, such as features used and crash data.
- Advertising ID: We collect your device’s advertising identifier to serve personalized ads.
- IP Address: Your IP address may be collected by our third-party service providers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: To operate the core step-based app locking functionality and the location-based “Campus Clash” game.
- For Gameplay: Your location is used to place your “Team” and “Lockbursts” on the public game map and to determine your proximity to other in-game items.
- To Improve the Service: We use analytics data to understand how users interact with our app, to identify bugs, and to improve features.
- For Advertising: To display personalized advertisements through third-party ad networks.
- For Security: To ensure gameplay integrity, we may use device information to detect and prevent the use of emulators.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Other Players: For the “Campus Clash” game to function, the location of your in-game assets (e.g., your Team’s home base and your deployed Lockbursts) and your Team Name are shared and made visible to other players on the game map. Your precise, real-time player location is not shared with other players.
- With Third-Party Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors and service providers that support our business. These include:
- Google AdMob: To provide personalized advertising.
- Google Firebase (including Firestore): For cloud database hosting of gameplay data (Teams, Lockbursts), and for analytics to understand app usage.
- Google Maps Platform: To display the in-game map.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
4. Third-Party Services
Our Service uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. We encourage you to review their privacy policies:
- Google Play Services
- Google AdMob
- Firebase Analytics
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to help protect your information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Gameplay data such as “Lockbursts” are temporary and are automatically deleted after a set period. You can leave your “Team” at any time through the in-app settings, which will disassociate you from that team data. Data stored locally on your device, such as app usage history, is removed when you uninstall the application.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information from our files as soon as possible.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
