1. Zero-Knowledge & Ephemeral Data
The PassTime protocol is built on a Zero-Knowledge Architecture. We do not require, request, or store any user-provided information (such as accounts, emails, names, or phone numbers).
Strictly Ephemeral: All game data—including Session IDs, scores, and temporary "Agent Identities"—is stored strictly in the device's temporary memory (RAM/Cache). This data is automatically purged if the application remains in the background for more than 10 minutes. We do not operate a central game server; once your session ends, the data ceases to exist.
2. Rhizome Access Permissions
To establish the local mesh network ("Neural Rhizome"), the app requires specific hardware permissions. These are used strictly for peer-to-peer discovery and are never used to track your physical location history or transmit location data to external servers.
- Bluetooth (Scan/Advertise/Connect): Strictly used to broadcast your ephemeral Agent ID to nearby devices to facilitate the game lobby.
- Nearby WiFi Devices: Used to establish high-bandwidth, low-latency local connections for real-time physics.
- Location (Fine/Coarse): Required by the Android OS to enable Bluetooth/WiFi discovery protocols. PassTime does not access your GPS coordinates for navigation or tracking purposes.
3. Third-Party Data Collection (AdMob)
While the developer collects no personal data, we utilize Google AdMob to support the protocol. This SDK (Software Development Kit) may collect specific data types to serve advertisements and ensure system stability.
a) Data Types Collected by AdMob
- Device Identifiers: Ad ID (Advertising ID) used for advertising and analytics.
- Usage Data: Product interaction data (e.g., ad impressions and clicks).
- Diagnostics: Crash logs and performance data to ensure SDK stability.
b) Google Data Processing
Google's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policies. For detailed information, please review: How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps.
c) User Opt-Out
You may opt out of personalized advertising at the OS level by navigating to your Android Settings > Privacy > Ads > "Delete advertising ID" or "Reset advertising ID".
4. Data Retention & Deletion Policy
No Remote Servers: PassTime does not operate a backend database. We do not store user accounts or game history.
Deletion Requests: Because we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, there is no data to "request deletion" for. Simply uninstalling the application or clearing the app storage via Android Settings will instantly and permanently remove all local preferences (e.g., your saved high score).
5. Junior Tubers (Children's Privacy)
The PassTime protocol is not directed toward biological entities under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided data via third-party integrations (AdMob), please contact System Administration or utilize the OS-level "Family Link" controls to restrict ad tracking.
