1. Zero-Knowledge Architecture
The PassTime protocol is designed for local anonymity. We do not require account creation, login credentials, or email verification. When you launch the app, the system generates a random, ephemeral identity (e.g., "Tuber-X9Y2") that exists only on your device.
The Rhizome is Local: All game logic, including score transfers and "Potato" physics, occurs strictly peer-to-peer between devices in your immediate physical vicinity. We do not store your game sessions, win/loss records, or chat "shouts" on any central server.
2. Rhizome Access Permissions
To establish the local mesh network, the app requires specific hardware permissions. These are used strictly to discover other "Spuds" nearby and are not used to track your location history.
- Bluetooth (Scan/Advertise/Connect): Required to broadcast your presence to the local mesh.
- Nearby WiFi Devices: Used to establish high-bandwidth, low-latency connections for real-time physics.
- Location (Fine/Coarse): Required by the Android OS to enable Bluetooth/WiFi discovery. PassTime does not log, store, or transmit your GPS coordinates.
3. External Uplinks (Advertising)
To keep the protocol free for all agents, we utilize Google AdMob. This is the only component of the application that connects to the wider internet.
a) Data Transmission
Google AdMob may collect data to serve personalized advertisements, including your device's Advertising ID and IP address. This data handling is governed by Google's own privacy protocols.
4. Junior Tubers (Children's Privacy)
The PassTime protocol is not directed toward biological entities under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact System Administration so we can purge the records.
5. Protocol Updates
We may update these Privacy Protocols to reflect changes in the game mechanics or legal requirements. System notifications will be posted on this frequency upon update.
